DJ Yano (real name Luciano Gaggia) is one of Italy's most iconic and enduring DJs and producers of Afro and Cosmic alternative music, a genre that emerged in Northern Italy's clubs in the 1980s. A pioneer of the scene, he stands alongside legends like DJ Baldelli and DJ Mozart. His sets blend world music, African tribal percussion, electronic beats, reggae, and abstract, psychedelic sounds. Known for high‑energy live performances, Yano often adds live percussionists and massive stage setups such as the "Yano Music Machine". He has released dozens of successful compilations, including the cult‑favorite Afro Project series, prized by vinyl collectors. Today, DJ Yano still draws thousands of fans of all ages to clubs and open‑air parties across Northern Italy.
