DJ Yano (born Luciano Gaggia) is one of Italy's most iconic and enduring DJs and producers of Afro and Cosmic alternative music. This genre originated and flourished in Northern Italian nightclubs starting in the 1980s. He is considered a pioneer of the genre, alongside legendary colleagues like DJ Baldelli and DJ Mozart. His DJ sets blend world music, tribal African percussion, electronic music, reggae, and 'abstract' psychedelic sounds. The 'Music Machine' refers to his high-energy live sets, often accompanied by live percussionists and impressive stage setups. He has released dozens of successful compilations, including the famous Afro Project series, which has become a cult item for vinyl collectors. Even today, DJ Yano attracts thousands of fans of all ages to clubs and outdoor festivals across Northern Italy.
