Campi Salentina celebrates the Solemnity of San Francesco d'Assisi, Italy's patron saint and a symbol of ecology, with a rich program of religious and civil events. This special occasion includes the 29th Sagra della Bruschetta with live music, a scenic bike rally, a captivating opera concert, and solemn religious celebrations marking the 8th Centenary of the Pasqua di San Francesco.
Indulge in the star of the festival, Bruschetta, prepared with delicious local products. This classic Italian appetizer features toasted bread topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients, offering a true taste of Salento.
The festivities kick off on SEPTEMBER 25th with the Corona Francescana at 6:15 PM, followed by Holy Mass at 7:00 PM presided over by don ALESSANDRO SCEVOLA. On SEPTEMBER 26th, Holy Mass is at 7:00 PM with Padre GIOVANNI DE MATTEIS, leading into the 29th SAGRA DELLA BRUSCHETTA at 8:30 PM, featuring live music from the 'ALTAFREQUENZA' band. Holy Mass continues daily at 7:00 PM with various priests: fra RUGGIERO DORONZO on SEPTEMBER 27th, don LUIGI MANCA on SEPTEMBER 28th, and don FLAVIO PASCALI on SEPTEMBER 29th (FESTA DEGLI ARCANGELI), followed by catechesis. Don ALESSANDRO D'ELIA presides on SEPTEMBER 30th. OCTOBER 1st starts with the 30º CICLORADUNO at 9:00 AM (meeting at the Parish, blessing and departure at 9:30 AM), followed by Holy Mass at 7:00 PM with don GIANMARCO ERRICO, and an enchanting concert by the Coro Lirico di Lecce at 8:30 PM, directed by M° Vincenza Baglivo. On OCTOBER 2nd (MEMORIA DEGLI ANGELI CUSTODI), fra PIERO ERRICO presides over Holy Mass at 7:00 PM, including a blessing for grandparents and remembrance of those who have passed. OCTOBER 3rd features Holy Mass at 7:00 PM with Mons. LUIGI PEZZUTO, followed by the TRANSITO DEL SERAFICO PADRE SAN FRANCESCO in church at 8:00 PM. The main day, OCTOBER 4th (SOLENNITA' DI SAN FRANCESCO), includes Holy Masses at 8:30 AM, 10:30 AM (with catechism children), and 6:00 PM. A Supplica alla Madonna di Pompei is at 12:00 PM, followed by the Blessing of Animals at 12:30 PM. The evening concludes with a procession through the town streets after the 6:00 PM Mass.
