On September 27th, Gallio celebrates the ancient tradition of transhumance as the herd from Malga Busafonda descends into the village. This immersive experience combines Alpine tradition, local gastronomy, and Cimbrian culture. Enjoy the Mercato della Terra, where producers from the Sette Comuni of the Altopiano offer tastings and sales of their typical products. The event also features a documentary screening and a delightful walk among the village goats.

📅 September 27, 2026: The day kicks off at 🚐 9:00 AM with the Transumanza experience, departing by bus from Ghelpach parking towards Malga Busafonda (reservations required). From 🍽️ 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, explore the Mercato della Terra, where you can purchase and taste typical products from the Sette Comuni. Around 📍 12:00 PM, witness the Transumanza as the Malga Busafonda herd passes through the center of Gallio. At 🎬 1:00 PM, there will be a recognition ceremony for the malghesi, followed by a screening of the documentary 'Capindo la late'. Finally, at 🚶 2:30 PM, enjoy a charming walk through the village streets with the cheerful and curious goats.
