Sagra · September 11, 2026 – September 13, 2026 · Camino di Buttrio (UD)
A traditional Friulian food festival built around two local treasures: stuffed quail and viscja, a savory turnip green. The tradition dates back to 1915–1918. For three days, the parish recreation area in Camino di Buttrio fills with live music, concerts, a motorcycle ride and playful sporting competitions.
The menu puts local tradition first. The must-try is quaglia ripiena, a tender stuffed quail prepared the Friulian way. It comes with viscja — the region's leafy turnip green that gives the festival its name — served simply to let the flavor shine. Don't miss the frittata with viscja either: a golden, savory egg dish made with the same greens. Rustic, regional, and hard to find outside this corner of Italy.
Festivities begin on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September: food stands open at 18:00 and the kitchen serves from 19:00 to 22:30, with music and events both evenings. Sunday 13 September is packed: at 10:30 the 2 FOR LIFE motorcycle rally departs; at 11:00 the MDB market opens; at 13:00 the Silvano Passon shooting trophy is awarded; at 16:00 the Corse Balorde fun races return for their 2nd edition; at 17:30 registration opens for the Dai Ucei e de Viscje 3x300 relay race; at 18:00 DJ Kris Simon starts the music, and at 18:30 Furlans a Manete open the festivities. The relay race starts at 19:30, followed by live sets from Dave Eibachi da Seta, Orchestra Novanta and René Live Band through the night.
