Celebrate the 70th edition of the Sagra dell'Uva, a four-day festival honoring Donnas' winemaking heritage. Enjoy Nebbiolo DOC wine tastings, traditional Aosta Valley dishes at a special food and wine dinner, parades, concerts, and the awarding of the "Grappolo d'oro" (Golden Grape). Explore the medieval village, visit open cellars, and savor local delicacies, all while experiencing the vibrant blend of food, culture, and tradition.
Indulge in a wide array of local specialties, from traditional Aosta Valley appetizers like local cured meats and bell peppers with bagna cauda sauce, to hearty pasta dishes such as lasagnette with toma cheese, speck, and asparagus, or Piedmontese-style meat ravioli. Main courses feature rich game like venison stew with polenta, or cotechino sausage with juniper fondue. For a more casual bite, explore the street food options including BBQ chicken wings, arrosticini (grilled lamb skewers), fried fish, and various burgers and sandwiches.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, October 1st, at 8:30 PM with a unique blind tasting of 4 wines led by Luca Boccoli (€20, reservations by September 30th). Friday, October 2nd, brings a Street Food evening at 8:00 PM with a choice of delicious options, followed by a free dance party at 9:00 PM with LiDò 2.0 playing '90s and 2000s music. Saturday, October 3rd, starts with an energizing metabolic walk through the vineyards at 5:30 PM (free lesson, mandatory booking), leading into a gourmet food and wine dinner at Salone Bec Renon at 7:00 PM, featuring Aosta Valley dishes paired with local wines. The evening concludes with another free dance party at 9:00 PM with Orchestra I Roeri. Sunday, October 4th, begins with grape delivery from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM (Bec Renon area), followed by Holy Mass at 11:00 AM at the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli di Donnas. A parade with the Donnas Musical Band takes place at 12:00 PM, leading to the convivial Vignerons' Lunch at 1:00 PM (€30, reservations by October 1st). The afternoon continues with "Pomeriggio in Allegria" from 2:30 PM, offering wine tastings from local producers (€20), culminating in the awards ceremony for the best grapes and the "Grappolo d'oro" at 5:00 PM.
