Fornole, a charming village just a stone's throw from Amelia, hosts a unique festival dedicated to the 'acciaccata' – a traditional Umbrian flatbread with a dough similar to bread, which is left to rise before being baked and served with delicious local cured meats and cheeses. Every evening, the food stands will not only feature acciaccata but also a remarkable selection of the best traditional local dishes. From gnocchi with castrato (mutton) to pappardelle with wild boar, grilled castrato, fried frogs, and many other specialties, food lovers will not be disappointed.
