The Sagra della Patata Macchiaiola celebrates its 18th edition on Monte Amiata. This lively event features food stalls with local products, a craft market, and entertainment for all ages, including medieval games, horseback riding, and bike tours. Admission is free, offering a fantastic opportunity to experience authentic Tuscan culture.
Indulge in the star of the festival, the 'Patata Macchiaiola,' a local potato variety prepared in various traditional dishes. The food stands will offer a range of delicious regional specialties, showcasing the best of Tuscan culinary traditions.
The festival kicks off on THURSDAY, AUGUST 20th, at 9:00 PM with a 'TORNEO DI BRISCOLA' (Briscola Card Tournament) featuring 16 pairs and great prizes. On FRIDAY, AUGUST 21st, food stands open at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM. The craft and local products market opens at 6:30 PM. At 10:00 PM, enjoy a 'POTATO COUNTRY NIGHT' with Frasca del Tarlo and music by CATO DJ. SATURDAY, AUGUST 22nd, sees food stands open at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM, and the craft market at 3:00 PM. Kids' entertainment with CICCIALSUGO starts at 5:30 PM. At 10:00 PM, dance to the '883 MANIA TRIBUTE BAND,' followed by DJ NIK. On both SATURDAY, AUGUST 22nd, and SUNDAY, AUGUST 23rd, experience medieval games presented by the 'NOBILTÀ E CONTADO' DI PISTOIA Association. SUNDAY, AUGUST 23rd, begins with the 'PATATE-BIKE' cycling tour (25 km for all levels with guide and discounted lunch) meeting at 8:30 AM and departing at 9:00 AM (reservations required 2 days prior, e-bike rental available). Horseback riding, in collaboration with A.S.D Centro Equestre Ambasciador, also starts at 9:00 AM (contact Ivan 339 1836923 or Giulia 333 2317843 for info/reservations). Food stands open at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Kids' show 'SCEN-SEN-SO DELIRI DI CLOWN' is at 5:30 PM. The festival concludes with a Karaoke Night with FONZI DJ at 9:30 PM. The main food stands will be open from Friday, August 21st, to Sunday, August 23rd, at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
