The Sagra della Patata Macchiaiola celebrates its 18th edition on Monte Amiata. This lively event offers food stalls with local products, a craft market, and entertainment for all ages, including medieval games, horseback riding, and bike tours. Indulge in the star of the festival, the 'Patata Macchiaiola,' a local potato variety prepared in various traditional dishes. The food stands will feature authentic regional specialties, offering a true taste of the Monte Amiata area.
The festival kicks off on THURSDAY, AUGUST 20th, at 9:00 PM with a 'TORNEO DI BRISCOLA,' a traditional Italian card tournament. FRIDAY, AUGUST 21st, sees the opening of the food stands at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM, followed by the craft and local products market at 6:30 PM. The evening concludes with a 'POTATO COUNTRY NIGHT' featuring Frasca del Tarlo and music by CATO DJ at 10:00 PM. SATURDAY, AUGUST 22nd, continues with food stands at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM, and the craft market opening at 3:00 PM. Kids can enjoy entertainment with CICCIALSUGO at 5:30 PM. The night heats up with an '883 MANIA TRIBUTE BAND' and DJ NIK at 10:00 PM. On both SATURDAY, AUGUST 22nd, and SUNDAY, AUGUST 23rd, experience medieval games presented by the 'NOBILTÀ E CONTADO' DI PISTOIA Association. SUNDAY, AUGUST 23rd, starts with the 'PATATE-BIKE' at 9:00 AM (meet-up at 8:30 AM), a 25 km guided bike tour with a special lunch (reservations required two days prior, e-bike rental available). Children's entertainment with 'SCEN-SEN-SO DELIRI DI CLOWN' is at 5:30 PM, followed by a karaoke night with FONZI DJ at 9:30 PM. The main food stands will be open from Friday, August 21st, to Sunday, August 23rd, at 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
