The festival kicks off on Saturday, August 8th, at 7:30 PM with the official inauguration of the Sagra della Melanzana and tastings. Later that evening, at 9:30 PM, enjoy a live musical performance by the Joe Pugliese Group. On Sunday, August 9th, food stands reopen at 7:30 PM, followed by an exciting musical and ethno-folkloric show at 9:30 PM featuring the Gruppo etno-folkloristico Kardhja. A major highlight is the Guinness World Record-winning Parmigiana di Melanzane (378 kg), prepared in a historic 7.60-meter-long Tunisian eggplant-shaped pan.
