On Sunday, October 11 and 18, 2026, the traditional Sagra della Castagna returns to Premilcuore. This festival celebrates the chestnut, its harvest, and the delicious products derived from this iconic autumn fruit. Enjoy roasted chestnuts (caldarroste), chestnut cake (castagnaccio), and boiled chestnuts, all paired with excellent Sangiovese wine, set against the colorful autumn landscape of the surrounding mountains. A vibrant street fair will fill the town with numerous food and wine stalls offering typical traditional dishes: cappelletti, polenta, tortelli nella lastra, fried piadina, and grilled meats. Sunday, October 11, will also feature the Sagra del Raviggiolo, a typical cheese from the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines and a prestigious Slow Food presidium. Throughout the day, there will be shows, inflatables for children, and demonstrations of ancient crafts. Sunday, October 18, completes the program with the traditional pig butchering (masè 'e porc), where pork is transformed into sausages, steaks, chops, ciccioli, and coppa di testa (musotto). The entertainment calendar is also rich, featuring the Carrettieri band with their “sciucarén” (whip crackers), Romagnolo dancers, and guided chestnut harvesting in the chestnut groves.
