Get ready for the 49th edition of the Sagra della Castagna in Buti (PI)! This beloved event will take place over three weekends: October 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25, 2026. This festival is deeply rooted in local tradition, celebrating the chestnut harvest and the historical significance of chestnut wood craftsmanship, both integral to the history of Buti, nestled on the slopes of Monte Pisano.
Indulge in a variety of local culinary delights, including unique pasta dishes like tagliatelle and raviolacci made with chestnut flour, savory 'boscaiola' sauce, and delicious chestnut-infused bites. You'll also find grilled specialties and other typical Buti dishes. Don't miss out on classic autumn treats such as roasted chestnuts, 'necci' (chestnut flour crepes) with various fillings, 'castagnaccio' (chestnut cake), and sweet fritters—all crafted from sweet chestnut flour. Food stands are set up indoors at Parco Danielli, open for dinner from 7:30 PM, and for both lunch (from 12:30 PM) and dinner on Sundays.
