The 53rd edition of the Sagra del Ranocchio celebrates Romagna's culinary traditions. Dozens of volunteers bring to the table local specialties like frog risotto, fried frogs, frogs in sauce, garganelli pasta with ragù, polenta, and other regional delights. Running from September 17th to 21st, the event features lively musical evenings, creative workshops, blues concerts, and various shows, all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Indulge in a variety of local Romagna specialties, including unique frog dishes like frog risotto, fried frogs, and frogs in sauce. You'll also find classic Italian pasta dishes such as garganelli with ragù, hearty polenta, and a traditional Romagna charcuterie board. For meat lovers, there are roasts and grilled sausages, plus crispy french fries and a selection of delicious desserts.
The festival runs from September 17th to 21st. Thursday, September 17th: The Hobby and Collectibles Market opens at 6:30 PM, followed by the Food Stand at 7:00 PM. Enjoy music with Alex DJ at 7:30 PM and the show "Chi ce l'ha fatto fare" with Marco Dondarini and Davide Dalfiume at 9:30 PM. Friday, September 18th: The market and food stand open at 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM respectively. There's a Creative Workshop at 8:30 PM, a concert by Claudia Cieli Quintet at 9:00 PM, and Piano Bar music also at 9:00 PM. Saturday, September 19th: Start the day with frog-themed readings and a workshop at the Municipal Library at 10:30 AM. A motorcycle rally, Motoconcentrazione, takes place at 1:30 PM. The market opens at 6:30 PM, and the food stand at 7:00 PM. Enjoy board games with Ludus Giochi da Tavola at 7:00 PM, a children's fashion show at 8:30 PM, and live music with Midnight Blues or Piano Bar at 9:00 PM. Sunday, September 20th: Witness the Gran Premio Nuvolari passage at 9:00 AM. The food stand opens for lunch at 12:00 PM. The market opens at 3:00 PM, followed by board games with Ludus Giochi da Tavola at 3:30 PM, and music with Alex DJ at 4:00 PM. The food stand reopens at 7:00 PM. There's a book reading corner and 'Pasticci di Pasta' workshop at 8:30 PM, and the Rising Star Show Tour 2026 with Arca at 9:00 PM. Monday, September 21st: The festival concludes with a Schools on Stage performance featuring students from Conselice Primary School and Lavezzola Secondary School at 8:30 PM.
