The 44th edition of Sagra del Mais in Albonese celebrates the giant Polentata, offering rustic dishes like donkey stew, venison, cod, fried specialties, sausage, gorgonzola and salamella. Over three days you’ll enjoy dancing evenings, a quirky Frog Tournament, vintage games and a solemn mass. Free entry, but reservations are recommended.

The main courses showcase cod, a mixed fry of sausage, pork loin and onion, fresh mushrooms, salamella, slow‑cooked donkey stew and rich venison ragù. Friday, September 11 – 6:30 PM: award ceremony for the “Senatore Grocco” scholarship at Palazzo Grocco; 7:30 PM: the grand Polentata dinner; 9:00 PM: dance night with live music by Lorenzo Sax. Saturday, September 12 – 2:30 PM: “Torneo Vecchie Glorie Lomelline” vintage games at the municipal sports field; 7:30 PM: another round of the Polentata; 9:00 PM: dancing with Angela. Sunday, September 13 – 9:00 AM: 1st Frog Tournament for couples, “Centra la Rana, Salva la Polenta”; 10:00 AM: solemn mass celebrating wedding anniversaries; 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM: final Polentata servings. The kitchen stays open Friday‑Saturday 7‑11:55 PM, Sunday 12‑2 PM and 7‑11:55 PM. Free entry, reservations advised, and the event runs rain or shine.
