The 40th edition of the "Sagra del Fallone e Palio delle Contrade" celebrates Fallone, an ancient baked good made with wild herbs and vegetables. The charming streets and historic cellars of Affile offer tastings, accompanied by local cured meats, cheeses, and the renowned Cesanese di Affile DOCG wine. The event also features the Palio delle Contrade, with historical parades, traditional games, and captivating shows.
Indulge in the star of the festival, Fallone, served both savory with vegetables and local pork sausage, and sweet with chocolate spread. Other delightful treats include shortcrust pastries with artisanal plum and apricot jams, and traditional wine biscuits. For heartier options, savor baked cannelloni with sheep's ricotta and mushrooms, or polenta with succulent pork ribs. Don't miss the breaded broccoli with crumbled Fallone, or the grilled meats from Fornacella del Boschetto paired with Fallone.
