The International Chimney Sweep Gathering celebrates its 43rd edition with four days of festivities dedicated to this traditional craft from Val Vigezzo. The event features parades of chimney sweeps from around the world, tribute ceremonies at the Chimney Sweep Monument, and historical re-enactments of chimney cleaning using antique tools. It's a rich event filled with folklore and insights into the millennial history of the valley of chimney sweeps, dating back to 1548.
📅 Friday, September 4: Video screenings of past editions. 📅 Saturday, September 5: Tribute ceremony at the Chimney Sweep Monument in Malesco, followed by a parade to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sangue. 📅 Sunday, September 6: Grand parade of chimney sweeps from around the world, featuring musical bands and folk groups, plus a historical re-enactment of chimney cleaning in Piazza Gennari. 📅 Monday, September 7: A local excursion for guests. 🏛️ The Chimney Sweep Museum is open from March to late October/early November and during the Christmas holidays.
