The 56th Palio delle Contrade celebrates the patron saints San Bartolomeo Apostolo and Santa Calepodia with a traditional August festival in Canale Monterano. Experience a historical parade featuring approximately 200 participants in medieval costumes, including flag-wavers, drummers, knights, and musicians. This is followed by an exciting race between the six city districts, where teams transport 45 kg (about 100 lbs) bigonzi (grape-harvesting vats) over a distance of 135 meters (about 440 feet). All events offer free admission.
