Experience a vibrant celebration of wine culture and local traditions in Barile, named Italian Wine City 2026. The Palio delle Botti is a spectacular competition where teams from various towns push enormous 500-liter wooden barrels through the historic town center. It's a thrilling tribute to the history and territory of Vulture, renowned for its exquisite Aglianico del Vulture DOP wine. The event also features Cantinando Wine & Art (August 21-22) at the Parco Urbano delle Cantine.
Join us for a full schedule of events! On August 21-22, enjoy Cantinando Wine & Art at Parco Urbano delle Cantine. The main event, the Palio delle Botti, takes place on August 23. The day kicks off at 9:30 AM with the team presentation, followed by qualifying rounds for women's teams at 10:00 AM and men's teams at 10:30 AM. The women's Palio delle Botti race starts at 11:00 AM, with the men's race at 12:00 PM. The awards ceremony will conclude the festivities at 12:30 PM.
