The 43rd edition of the Palio dei Conti Oliva transports Piandimeleto back to the Middle Ages with three days of festivities. Enjoy district games, a medieval market with artisans, flag-wavers and fire-eater shows, live music, and archery competitions. The taverns offer traditional local dishes like gnocchi, cascioni, mixed grill, and trippa, along with other regional specialties.
Indulge in a feast of authentic medieval-inspired dishes! Start with savory Cascioni, Crostini de lo Castellano, or stuffed Crostoli. For your main course, choose from various gnocchi preparations, including wild boar or four cheese, or Tagliatelle with wild boar or ragù. Don't miss the Delizie del Viandante or the hearty Focata Olimpia and Ugolino. Meat lovers will enjoy Coratella di agnello, Cotiche e fagioli, mixed grill, or the traditional Trippa. Quench your thirst with Pozioni ed elisir de la Cantina. For quick bites, grab Ciacce fritte, Crepes, Panino con la porchetta, or Patatine fritte.
