MicoVerso – The Mushroom Festival transforms Serravalle di Chienti (MC) into a true mycological wonderland for an entire weekend. This two-day event is dedicated to the fascinating world of mushrooms, featuring a grand mycological exhibition, guided forest excursions, engaging talks with mycologists and researchers, hands-on workshops, live showcooking demonstrations, delicious tastings, a market of local products, art displays, cinema screenings, activities for children, and live music. There's a huge focus on gastronomy with the 'Mushroom Kitchen,' offering mushroom-based dishes, medieval cuisine, 'Street Fung' (mushroom street food), and finger foods. Plus, the local Pro Loco's food area will serve up mushrooms and other regional specialties. Admission to the festival is free and includes access to exhibitions, talks, lessons, the market, the gastronomic area, concerts, and film screenings. Please note that excursions and some workshops require a fee and have limited spots. Reservations are recommended for these activities.

🍄 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 Explore the grand mycological exhibition and join fascinating discussions with mycologists, researchers, and associations. Embark on mycological-botanical excursions into the local habitats (limited spots, paid activity – reservations recommended). Participate in applied microscopy labs, observing spores under the microscope. Engage in various workshops, including creating Himalayan masks with wood-decay fungi, wicker weaving, botanical printing, fermentation techniques, and other applications of the fungal world. The MUSHROOM KITCHEN will be bustling with showcooking and tastings, medieval cuisine, mushroom-based preparations, 'Street Fung' and finger food, fermented beverages, and mushroom fermentation demonstrations. At 4:00 PM, join a special talk with Giovanni Martinotti on 'Mycology, Health, and Contemporary Research.' Discover the 'Etnomicologicamente' exhibition, the 'Spiritellus Phosphorescens 2026' installation, and explore the intersection of mycology, photography, and artificial intelligence. Enjoy cinema screenings and dedicated activities for children. SATURDAY EVENING: Don't miss the concert by I Vincisgrassi at Piazzale Nervi. 🍄 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 The grand mycological exhibition continues, along with guided tours and multi-sensory pathways. Join mycological-botanical excursions focusing on conifers, broadleaf trees, meadows, and pastures. There's also a special excursion with a mycological photography workshop (paid activity, limited spots – reservations recommended). Microscopy labs and various workshops on the world of fungi will be available. The MUSHROOM KITCHEN will once again feature showcooking, tastings, 'Street Fung,' and finger food. Engage in informative talks and outreach sessions covering edible and toxic mushrooms, fungal bioluminescence, cultivation techniques, fungi as bioindicators of ecosystems, truffles, boletes of the Far East, and biodiversity and scientific research. Enjoy more activities for children, art and exhibitions, and cinema screenings. 🛍️ BOTH DAYS Visit Corso Giacomo Leopardi for a market of traditional crafts and direct sales. At Piazzale Nervi, the Pro Loco's gastronomic area will offer a menu and street food based on mushrooms, alongside other local products.
