The 34th medieval reenactment in the historic village of Valvasone turns Friuli’s past into a living story. Over 150 events fill the squares and courtyards with battles, tournaments, parades, traveling shows and daily medieval life scenes. The centerpiece is a candlelit medieval dinner, while a craft fair showcases artisans practicing ancient trades. This year’s theme honors the Orcolat (the 1348 earthquake) and Saint Francis of Assisi.
September 3‑6, 2026 – More than 150 activities including medieval battles, jousting tournaments, colorful parades, itinerant performances and authentic medieval life displays. September 4 (Friday) – Candlelit medieval dinner “The Walking Mountains” in the cloister of the former Convent of the Servants of Mary (sold out). A medieval fair features artisans demonstrating historic crafts. A special reenactment commemorates the Orcolat earthquake of 1348 and pays tribute to Saint Francis of Assisi on the occasion of his 800th anniversary.
