MarsicaLand is a region‑wide agro‑food festival that tells the story of the Marsica area through its cuisine, agriculture, culture, memory and traditions. Set in the heart of Avezzano, local producers and companies create a direct market of the land, complemented by live cooking shows, tastings, talks, music and immersive experiences. The highlight is the Historical Parade of the Marsi, a collective spectacle celebrating the region’s farming heritage and identity.
**Friday, September 18** – 10:00 am: Screening and discussion of the historic film “Quel che resta di noi,” featuring archival footage of Marsica (1920‑1960) at the Ex‑Montessori Hall. 3:30 pm: Performance by the Avezzano Musical Band in Piazza Risorgimento. 4:00 pm: Official opening of the festival and the Direct Market of the Land, also in Piazza Risorgimento. 4:30 pm: Launch of the multimedia exhibition “Agro‑food on Display: Excellence as Heritage” in the same square. 5:30 pm: Round‑table on internal development scenarios and the idea of a “Fifth Province.” 7:00 pm: Pre‑dinner reception for press and officials at the City Palace Gardens, alongside a live cooking demonstration and tasting of local specialties in Piazza Risorgimento. 9:00 pm: Concert in Piazza del Mercato. **Saturday, September 19** – 10:00 am: Market opens and cooking shows begin in Piazza Risorgimento. Morning: Bike tour from Piazza Risorgimento to the Claudio Caves (reservations at the MarsicaLand stand). 10:30 am: Round‑table on youth prospects in Marsica. 12:00 pm: Talk on the flavors of bread, from necessity to luxury, hosted with Città Biodiversa – Osteria Futuro. 5:00 pm: Talk & Art session exploring imagination and territory. 6:30 pm: Round‑table on mountain viticulture followed by a guided tasting of Abruzzese wines with Assomarso. 9:00 pm: Concert in Piazza del Mercato. **Sunday, September 20** – 10:00 am: Market and cooking shows resume in Piazza Risorgimento. 10:30 am: Educational workshop on mushroom biodiversity in the Marsica region. 11:30 am: Round‑table titled “Marsica Calls Europe – Integrated Development: Local Action, Global Vision.” 12:30 pm: Cooking demo and tasting of local products. 4:00 pm: Historical Parade of the Marsi – a grand performance honoring the land, agriculture and community, moving from Dall'Aia dei Musei to Piazza della Repubblica. 6:30 pm: Final cooking showcase and tasting in Piazza Risorgimento. 9:00 pm: Closing concert in Piazza della Repubblica. Throughout the three days, the central tent hosts a Direct Market featuring around 50 local farms and food artisans, live cooking stations, wine tastings and meetings with producers.
