Morgex celebrates La Desarpa with a vibrant parade of cattle returning from their summer pastures in the Alps. This lively event features demonstrations of Fontina cheese production, delicious tastings, a market showcasing local products, and live music entertainment. There will also be plenty of activities for children and a traditional Alpine snack.
Indulge in local Alpine flavors, including delicious Fontina d'alpeggio cheese, a regional specialty, and classic hamburgers for a casual evening meal.
📅 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2026 🎵 All day: The Street Band Tequila will accompany the Desarpa parade. 📍 At the Pro Loco chalet: Purchase a charm made by children from Morgex Primary School to support Margareta. 🍽️ From 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM: Market in Piazza della Chiesa featuring products from the Desarpa participants. Enjoy tastings of Fontina d'alpeggio cheese and games for children. 🍽️ 10:00 AM: 'How is Fontina Produced?' – A small demonstration workshop. 🤸 11:00 AM: Children's entertainment at the sports field by Arte in Testa. 🐄 12:30 PM: Arrival of the herds at the Sports Field and Desarpa lunch for everyone! (Cost €20.00). 🐄 3:30 PM: Parade of cattle returning to the valley along the main street of the village. 🍽️ Afterwards: Alpine snack at the Pro Loco Chalet in the piazza. 🍔 7:30 PM: Hamburger Night. 🎵 9:30 PM: Country Night with Mikol Frachey, Compagnie Country Dance la Valle d'Aosta, and Free Country. 📅 SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2026 🐄 9:00 AM: Guided visit to the stable to see the cattle heading out to autumn pasture. (Reservations required: Pro Loco Morgex: 347.9638343). 🧀 From 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM: At the pavilion behind the Church, 'How to Taste and Discover Fontina' with Fausto and guided by Stefano Lunardi. At the end of the day, the public's favorite Fontina will be revealed!
