Il Gonfalone is a 55-year-old folk festival celebrating the traditions of Ciociaria through challenges between the districts and 'contrade' (neighborhoods) of Arpino. Over four days, participants wear traditional costumes and compete in races like the donkey race, wheelbarrow race, 'cannata' race (reserved for women), and tug-of-war. The event concludes with a Historical Parade where all districts and 'contrade' march in costume. It's one of the most unique folk festivals in the region.
