The Giochi de le Porte, Gualdo Tadino's renowned historical re-enactment, celebrates its 46th edition this year. As dusk falls on a September evening in the town's Arengo Maggiore, a grand celebration unfolds. The ancient pallium decurrendum is renewed, with residents from the four Porte competing for the honor of Sancto Michele Arcangelo, patron saint of the "walled city." During the Giochi de le Porte, a magical atmosphere envelops Gualdo Tadino for three days.
The festivities begin on Friday with the reading of the proclamation, the opening of the taverns, and a performance by flag-wavers. Saturday continues with a magnificent historical parade. The event concludes on Sunday with the competitions and a grand celebration.
