On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the charming village of Sutrio and the stunning Zoncolan mountain will host Formandi, a special event dedicated to the delicious alpine cheeses of the Friulian mountains. Wander through the village streets on a tasting journey, savoring menus crafted around these unique cheeses, perfectly paired with local craft beers. You'll also have the chance to purchase the 2026 vintage cheeses directly from the producers. The festival program includes engaging conferences, live show cooking demonstrations, and an exciting auction of alpine cheeses.
Indulge in a delightful array of dishes showcasing the best of alpine cheese. Highlights include baked potatoes with creamy alpine cheese, crispy Sauris speck, and fried onions, along with savory crepes glazed with venison consommé and aged alpine cheese cream. Don't miss the red turnip Kanederli on a bed of alpine cheese cream, or the comforting Meste cuinciade with fresh alpine ricotta. For a hearty option, try the Hachis parmentier with beef, celeriac, and alpine cheese, or crispy Sutrio trout strips with alpine cheese and lime sauce. Sweet treats include artisanal Gubana with a light alpine ricotta foam. A special tasting of five different alpine cheeses from the 2026 season is also available for 8€.
