Experience the vibrant Festa di Santa Candida, the patron saint festival on the beautiful island of Ventotene. The highlight of the celebration, on September 20th, is a traditional and colorful paper hot-air balloon race featuring creations from the island's schools, showcasing diverse shapes, decorations, and sizes. Following the race, a solemn procession carries the statue of Santa Candida through the island's streets down to the harbor, where she is greeted by a spectacular fireworks display. In 2011, this cherished tradition was recognized by the Ministry of Tourism as a "Heritage of Italy."
