The charming hamlet of Gai comes alive with the Festa di San Michele, a vibrant festival organized by Pro Loco Tovena in collaboration with ASD Dama di Gai. From September 18th to 29th, enjoy a rich program combining musical evenings with local DJs and bands, traditional dishes (like tripe, grilled rooster, spit-roasted meats with polenta, and fried fish), puppet shows, karaoke, and plenty of entertainment. The event culminates on Tuesday, September 29th, with a Holy Mass for the Patron Saint at the Church of San Michele. Expect a warm atmosphere of conviviality and fun!
Indulge in a variety of authentic local specialties, including crispy fried fish served with polenta, traditional 'Gal coe brise' (a regional chicken dish), grilled rooster with potatoes, 'Osei con polenta' (a unique local delicacy), a hearty pumpkin and sausage pasticcio, succulent spit-roasted meats with polenta, and the renowned 'Trippe alla Gaiarda' (a local tripe preparation). These dishes offer a true taste of the Veneto region's culinary heritage.
