The Festa della Zucca is back! This event is entirely dedicated to delicious food and wine specialties made with pumpkin. At the Pro Loco pavilion in Sernaglia della Battaglia, you'll find an incredible array of pumpkin-based dishes, including cappellacci, gnocchi, crespelle, spatzle, zucca in saor, and much more. On weekends, enjoy guided excursions to local nature parks and exciting contests for carved pumpkins and homemade bread.
Prepare your taste buds for a pumpkin paradise! The menu features an extensive selection of pumpkin-infused delights, from savory first courses like pumpkin cappellacci with butter, ragù, or truffle, and pumpkin gnocchi, to unique spatzle and tagliatelle with pumpkin ragù. Don't miss the crispy fried pumpkin, the traditional zucca in saor, or the comforting pumpkin soup with croutons. For something different, try the pumpkin and porcini crespelle or the rich pumpkin pasticcio. Beyond pumpkin, you'll find classic Italian grilled meats like braciole, costicine, and salsicce, alongside local specialties such as Pastin and Spezzatino di mus. And for dessert, indulge in a variety of pumpkin sweets, pumpkin bread, and homemade jams.
Join us for the Festa della Zucca! The festival kicks off on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM with a special dinner featuring pumpkin specialties. On Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 5:00 PM, witness the carved pumpkin contest for students from Sernaglia and Falzè Elementary Schools, followed by a homemade pumpkin bread contest at 6:00 PM, and another pumpkin dinner at 7:00 PM. Sunday, October 18, 2026, starts with a guided excursion to Parco Naturalistico I Palu' at 9:00 AM (for info and registration, contact UNPLI TV 0438 893385), and a pumpkin lunch at 12:00 PM (lunch only). The festivities continue the following weekend: Friday, October 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM for another pumpkin dinner. Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM, there's a carved pumpkin contest for Sernaglia Middle School students, followed by dinner at 7:00 PM. On Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 9:00 AM, enjoy a guided excursion to Parco Naturalistico Fontane Bianche (for info and registration, contact UNPLI TV 0438 893385), with a pumpkin lunch at 12:00 PM (lunch only). Throughout the entire event, homemade pumpkin bread and sweets will be available for sale.
