Sagra · September 4, 2026 – September 7, 2026 · Carpaneto Piacentino (Piacenza)
Nestled at the foot of the Piacenza hills, between the Chero, Nure, and Arda valleys, lies Carpaneto Piacentino. Each year, this charming town hosts the Festa della Coppa, with the 2026 edition scheduled for the weekend of September 4th to 7th. This early September festival celebrates one of Piacenza's three protected designation of origin (DOP) cured meats: coppa, salame, and pancetta. Coppa is crafted from the back of the pig's neck, with each animal yielding two coppe. Strict regulations ensure that only pork from pigs born, raised, fed, and slaughtered in the surrounding territories is used, and the curing process must take place within the Piacenza region. For three days, the historic center's streets and squares come alive with food stalls, a market, and live music. The full program will be available closer to the event on visitpiacenza.it.
Indulge in authentic Piacenza flavors at the food stands, where you can savor the star of the festival, Coppa Piacentina DOP, a delicious cured meat, alongside other regional specialties and local delicacies.
Enjoy three days of festivities with food stands offering local specialties, a vibrant market, and live music performances animating the historic center. The full program will be released closer to the event date on visitpiacenza.it.
