Pisoniano celebrates the Beata Vergine del Santo Rosario with a rich program of festivities, including religious ceremonies, spectacular fireworks, and delicious food evenings. Highlights include the 31st Sagra Pasta e Fagioli and the 21st Sagra del Pizzocchio di Granturco, Salsiccia e Broccoletti, all accompanied by music and dancing in the Historic Center. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience the tradition and conviviality of this Italian community.
Indulge in authentic local flavors with freshly made Bruschetta all'Olio Novello di S. Maria della Quercia, a delightful appetizer. For your main course, savor the comforting Pasta e Fagioli, a traditional pasta and bean soup, or try the unique Pizzocchio di Granturco, Salsiccia e Broccoletti, a local specialty featuring corn-based pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe.
The celebration kicks off on October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at 5:30 PM with the recitation of the S. Rosario, Triduum prayer, and Holy Mass. On Saturday, October 3rd, at 6:00 PM, there will be a Holy Mass with Solemn Vespers in honor of the B.V. del Santo Rosario, including a commemorative plaque presentation to octogenarian Confratelli and Consorelle. The 'XXXI° SAGRA PASTA E FAGIOLI' food stands open at 7:30 PM, followed by music and dancing in the Historic Center. A grand fireworks display by 'RDF PYRO' will light up the sky at 10:30 PM. Sunday, October 4th, starts with the 'La Forma' musical band parading through the town at 9:00 AM. A Solemn Holy Mass, presided over by Missionary Fathers of the Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Mary, Father Jason and Father Brendan Glynn, with the Pisoniano Choir, will take place at 10:30 AM, including the vesting ceremony for new confratelli and consorelle. At 11:30 AM, don't miss the SOLEMN PROCESSION WITH THE STATUE OF THE B.V. DEL SANTO ROSARIO. On Wednesday, October 7th, at 10:30 AM, there will be a Holy Mass in honor of the Madonna del Santo Rosario. Later in the month, on Saturday, October 10th, at 7:00 PM in P.zza Padre Tito Cerroni, enjoy 'LA NOTTE DEI SETTE SOLI,' a live opera featuring theater, prose, dance, and song. A PILGRIMAGE TO POMPEII AND EXCAVATIONS, organized by the Parrocchia San Paolo Apostolo, is scheduled for Saturday, October 17th (contact Father Jason for info and reservations). On Saturday, October 24th, at 7:00 PM, the 'XXI SAGRA DEL PIZZOCCHIO DI GRANTURCO, SALSICCIA E BROCCOLETTI' and BRUSCHETTA ALL'OLIO NOVELLO DI S. MARIA DELLA QUERCIA will offer more culinary delights, with music and dancing in the Historic Center. The month dedicated to the B.V. DEL SANTO ROSARIO concludes on Sunday, October 25th, at 10:30 AM, with a Solemn Holy Mass officiated by Father Jason and Father Brendan Glynn, followed by a ritual procession with the Madonna's painting carried by the Consorelle of the Confraternita.
