The 53rd edition of the Festa del Valle d'Aosta Lard d'Arnad D.O.P. celebrates Europe's only Protected Designation of Origin lard. This popular event, attracting over 50,000 visitors, offers a rich program of tastings, workshops, live shows, and local traditions. Admission to all activities is free, making it a perfect way to experience authentic Valle d'Aosta culture.
Indulge in the star of the show, Valle d'Aosta Lard d'Arnad D.O.P., a unique and flavorful cured specialty. Beyond this regional delicacy, you'll find a wide array of local cuisine and delicious street food options to satisfy every craving.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, August 27th, with an inauguration at 6:30 PM, followed by a running race, delicious food and street food, and an evening of dancing. Friday, August 28th, features a honey workshop, more food, and live music from orchestra Matteo Bensi. On Saturday, August 29th, enjoy another honey workshop, the exciting "Bataille des Chèvres" (Goat Battle) at 8:30 PM, and music by orchestra Diego Zamboni. The grand finale on Sunday, August 30th, includes agricultural exhibitors, the traditional "Bataille des Reines" (Cow Battle) from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, an afternoon of local traditions, and a musical grand finale.
