Fano welcomes back one of its most beloved summer events: the Festa del Mare, now in its 67th edition! This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the deep connection between the city and its maritime culture, honoring Fano's seafaring history, fishing traditions, and trade. The Festa del Mare is a journey through local flavors, live music, and authentic traditions. You'll dine together along the seafront, enjoy live performances, and discover Fano's rich maritime heritage through engaging sea-themed activities. One of the most anticipated moments is the moving ceremony in memory of those lost at sea, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the water. In the port area, the Festa del Mare transforms into a culinary adventure, inviting you to savor the authentic tastes of Fano's cuisine. Here, you can enjoy dishes prepared according to the original recipes of local fishermen. Specialties include traditional Fano seafood dishes like Vongole alla pureta (clams prepared in an ancient Fano style), Rustita di pesce alla griglia (grilled mixed fish), Sardoncini scottadito (grilled sardines), and much more. It's a delightful experience for your taste buds, surrounded by the fresh scent of the sea.
Throughout the festival, head to the port area for "Dal Peschereccio alla Tavola" (From the Fishing Boat to the Table), where you can indulge in fresh seafood specialties prepared according to the time-honored recipes of Fano's fishermen.
