The 82nd Festa dei Marroni in Combai celebrates the prized local chestnut, the Marrone di Combai IGP, and other chestnut-based products. This event offers a delightful array of roasted chestnuts, chestnut desserts, and traditional and innovative dishes like chestnut lasagna, gnocchi, and tortelli. The program also features wood carving symposiums, guided walks in the chestnut groves with chestnut gathering, and cooking workshops for children.
Indulge in a unique culinary experience with specialties like chestnut beer, an assortment of chestnut flour desserts, and savory first courses such as chestnut gnocchi, lasagna (pasticcio), and tortelli. The festival kicks off on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th, with the XXVII Sculpture Symposium featuring wood artisans and the opening of food stands at 7:30 PM, highlighting chestnut lasagna. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10th, continues with the sculpture symposium, a free walk to discover restored stables and old crafts, and special dishes like chestnut gnocchi and chestnut rolls for lunch. Afternoon activities include chestnut gathering walks in the woods, a geological walk, and 'Little Chefs' cooking workshops for kids. The evening specialty is chestnut tortelli and chestnut porchetta. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11th, offers walks through the chestnut groves and chestnut gathering. The official opening of the 82nd Festa dei Marroni at 10:30 AM features flag-wavers from Dama Castellana di Conegliano. Lunch includes chestnut specialties by Agricombai and dishes like chestnut lasagna and chestnut stew with polenta. Enjoy roasted chestnuts with LE IENE R’N’R and a children's show with the FUNKASIN STREET BAND in the afternoon. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15th, features the traditional Mondoi and brise soup. On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16th, savor grilled rooster with fries (also for takeout) and chestnut beer. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th, includes a walk with a beekeeper to discover the secrets of bees, chestnut gnocchi and chestnut rolls for lunch, and more chestnut gathering walks in the afternoon, along with a 'Learning the Woods' workshop.
