Chiaramonte comes alive! Estate Chiaramontana is a rich summer program of events that animates Chiaramonte Gulfi throughout August and September. This festival offers a wide variety of activities, from religious celebrations to concerts, theatrical performances, and food and wine tastings, involving various districts and squares of the municipality. It's a perfect opportunity to experience the Chiaramonte summer amidst culture, music, and traditions.
Indulge in delicious Sicilian street food favorites like Arancine (fried rice balls), Crispelle (savory fried dough), Focacce (flatbreads), and Frittelle (sweet or savory fritters). Don't miss the hearty Panini with Porchetta (roast pork sandwiches) or Salsiccia (sausage sandwiches), and enjoy freshly roasted Pannocchie (corn on the cob).
The Estate Chiaramontana program is packed with diverse events. On August 2nd, experience LA FILIPPIDE Marathon at Antica Stazione at 4:30 AM. August 3rd features a DANCING EVENING by "University Dance" at Giardini Comunali at 9:00 PM. August 4th is dedicated to SUMMER TEATRO LAB with a children's theater workshop (6-11 years) from 6:30 PM, a family picnic at 8:00 PM, and the play "Calù" by Abaco - Il Teatro Conta at 9:00 PM, all at Giardini Comunali. August 5th celebrates FESTEGGIAMENTI IN ONORE DEL SS. SALVATORE with "Canto in Piazza All Together" by Coro Polifonico ed Ensemble Strumentale Cantus Novo at Scalinata Della Chiesa del SS. Salvatore at 9:00 PM. August 6th brings IMMF-STRINGS AWAKENING with The Young Artists of IMMF in Concert at 9:00 PM (location TBD), alongside religious celebrations for SS. SALVATORE at Chiesa del SS. Salvatore from 8:00 AM. On August 7th, enjoy CALICI SOTTO LE STELLE at Locanda Gulfi at 9:00 PM, and a Musikanten concert, a tribute to Franco Battiato, for FESTEGGIAMENTI IN ONORE DEL SS. SALVATORE at Piazza SS. Salvatore at 9:30 PM. August 8th features the FESTA DELLA CONTRADA "ROCCAZZO" with the traditional "Cappelluzza" and tastings of roasted Pannocchie, Arancine, and Frittelle, plus a play "U Ruppu ra cravatta" by "Amici del Teatro" at Piazza Sac. Curatolo at 8:00 PM, followed by the TRADIZIONALE "CAPPELLUZZA" in honor of Maria SS. di Gulfi in the San Giovanni district at Via Lauria at 9:30 PM. August 9th offers IMMF-STRINGS & WINE, an evening of Brahms with the IMMF Orchestra at Cantina Gulfi at 9:00 PM, another TRADIZIONALE "CAPPELLUZZA" with Eucharistic Celebration and traditional "Cena" of gifts at Roccazzo at 8:00 PM, and a SICILIA CABARET performance at Piazza SS. Salvatore at 9:00 PM. August 10th includes a book presentation, LA RESTAURAZIONE DELLA PROPRIETÀ, at Giardini Comunali at 8:30 PM, the TRADIZIONALE "CAPPELLUZZA" in honor of Maria SS. di Gulfi in the San Giovanni district at Piazza San Giovanni at 9:30 PM, and A SQUARCIAGOLA SOTTO LE STELLE, an Italian Night with Sebastiano Fazzina "Brividi Forti" and Vincenzo Burrafato at Piazza Duomo at 10:00 PM. August 11th is the FESTA DEL VILLAGGIO with tastings of Panini with Salsiccia and/or Porchetta and Frittelle, plus musical entertainment with Musica e Magia di Damiano Scollo at Villaggio Gulfi at 8:00 PM. August 12th presents a CONCERTO BANDISTICO "A. SCARLATTI" at Piazza Duomo at 9:00 PM. August 13th features EMERGENZA VENEZUELA, an evening of music and readings with Emanuela Zanghi at Villa Zottopera at 7:00 PM, and the FESTA DELLA CONTRADA "PIANO DELL'ACQUA" with the traditional "Cappelluzza" and tastings of Focacce, Frittelle, and Crispelle at Campetto c.da Piano dell'Acqua Chiaramonte Gulfi at 8:00 PM.
