The "Crastatone" is a historic autumn celebration dedicated to the chestnut, especially the "crastata" (roasted chestnut), involving the four districts of Piancastagnaio. Since 1967, every year, the village comes alive with food stalls, open cellars offering typical dishes made with chestnut flour, mulled wine, and street performances. It's one of the oldest chestnut festivals in the Monte Amiata area.
Indulge in the rich flavors of the region with traditional chestnut-based dishes, including sweet treats made with chestnut flour, and of course, plenty of "crastata" (roasted chestnuts). Warm up with a glass of vin brûlé (mulled wine) as you explore the festival.
