Sagra · October 18, 2026 · Larciano (PT)
On Sunday, October 18th, the 39th edition of the chestnut festival arrives in Larciano (PT). Starting at 2:30 PM in Piazza Cecina, the traditional Castagnata returns! Throughout the afternoon, you can savor 'necci' (chestnut flour crepes) – plain or filled with ricotta or chocolate, and for those with a sweet tooth, a two-flavor option. Also enjoy 'frittelle' (fritters), 'frugiate' (roasted chestnuts), 'ballotti' (boiled chestnuts), and other delicious specialties. And of course, excellent 'vino novello' (new wine)! Between enjoying chestnuts and necci, you can stroll through the town's streets and stumble upon a hilarious little show performed in local dialect. From 3:00 PM, a shuttle service will also be available to take you to the town center. The event takes place in Piazza Cecina, 51036 Larciano.
Indulge in a delightful array of chestnut-based treats, including 'necci' – thin chestnut flour crepes served plain, or filled with creamy ricotta or rich chocolate. For the ultimate indulgence, try the two-flavor 'bigusto' necci. You'll also find crispy 'frittelle' (fritters), classic roasted 'frugiate' chestnuts, and tender boiled 'ballotti'. Pair these seasonal delights with a glass of fresh 'vino novello' (new wine) for a truly authentic taste of autumn in Tuscany.
