Antica Fiera di San Matteo

Sagra · November 8, 2026 · Centro Storico, Feltre (BL)

Step back in time at the Antica Fiera di San Matteo, an ancient fair showcasing the finest local products from the Feltrino area and the Province of Belluno. Held in the enchanting historic center of Feltre, this event brings together small, quality producers who proudly display their traditional agricultural goods. Originally established to promote the unique "noce Feltrina" (Feltre walnut), the fair has grown over the years to include an even wider array of products, attracting more and more visitors eager to discover and purchase these authentic treasures. The "noce Feltrina" is famous for its "premicità" – meaning it's incredibly easy to crack, often just by squeezing it between your fingers. Another prized characteristic is its high yield of shelled nut and the effortless extraction of the kernel. This genuine fruit delights with its sweet, round flavor, and it's cultivated using natural methods, free from pesticides and bleaching treatments, respecting both the environment and your health. The drying process still follows tradition, taking place under the sun on special racks. Here's a charming local custom: in the past, it was traditional to plant a walnut tree for the birth of every daughter, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity. This autumn day will be illuminated by the Noci di Feltre, along with Castagne and "moroni" (chestnuts) from Feltrino, artisanal mountain cheeses (Formaggi di malga), Pumpkins (Zucche), Lamon Beans (Fagioli di Lamon) and Gialet Beans (Fagioli Gialet), and the unique Pom Prussian apple.
