Tradition, delicious flavors, folklore, and a strong sense of community are the main ingredients for Allumiere's Summer 2026. This charming town is ready to welcome both residents and visitors with a rich calendar of events, all organized by its historic Contrade (districts). Six traditional food festivals (sagre) and the 60th edition of the Palio delle Contrade are the heart of a season that, as every year, will transform this town in the Monti della Tolfa into a key destination for popular events and outdoor celebrations. Kicking off the program is the 22nd Sagra della Lumaca (Snail Festival), organized by Contrada Sant'Antonio, from June 19th to 21st in Piazzale C. Moroni. This event has become one of the most anticipated gastronomic highlights of early summer. From June 26th to 28th, it's Contrada Burò's turn with the 23rd Festa del Vino e del Tartufo (Wine and Truffle Festival), held at the "La Cavaccia" sports field. Here, two of the most beloved local culinary treasures will take center stage. July opens with the 18th Sagra del Cinghiale e dei Sentieri dell'Allume (Wild Boar and Alum Trails Festival), organized by Contrada Ghetto from July 3rd to 5th. This event beautifully combines typical flavors with the natural beauty of the region. From July 10th to 12th, in the heart of the historic center, Piazza A. Chigi will host the traditional Sagra degli Antichi Sapori e dell'Acquacotta (Festival of Ancient Flavors and Acquacotta Soup) by Contrada Polveriera. It's a journey through recipes and traditions that tell the story of local rural culture. The following week, from July 17th to 19th, Contrada La Bianca will present the historic Sagra del Contadino (Farmer's Festival), accompanied by the Festa della Porchetta (Roast Pork Festival), an event that draws numerous visitors every year. Closing the cycle of gastronomic events will be Contrada Nona, which from July 24th to 26th will organize the 33rd Festival della Birra (Beer Festival) and the Sagra delle Fettuccine (Fettuccine Festival), in collaboration with Rione Casenove of Canale Monterano. These six events are much more than simple popular festivals; the Contrade sagre are a vital part of Allumiere's community identity, moments of gathering and promotion of the territory that every summer attract thousands of people from the surrounding area, all of Tuscia, and the metropolitan area of Rome. The peak of the season, however, will arrive from August 21st to 23rd, when the town will pause to experience one of the most deeply felt and prestigious events in the entire region: the 60th Palio delle Contrade. The 2026 edition is a special one, celebrating sixty years of history, passion, and belonging. The six town Contrade – Burò, Nona, Ghetto, Polveriera, La Bianca, and Sant'Antonio – will once again compete on August 23rd in an event that symbolizes Allumiere's identity. Three days marked by competitions, parades, vibrant colors, emotions, and popular participation that draw thousands of spectators every year, and which this year hold even greater significance due to the prestigious anniversary. All of this, however, is just a part of Summer 2026. The municipal administration, led by Mayor Luigi Landi, is putting the final touches on the general calendar of events before the official presentation of the complete program. Alongside the sagre and the Palio, numerous other cultural, musical, sporting, and entertainment events are planned to accompany citizens and tourists from June to September, helping to make Allumiere's summer season even more lively and attractive. The goal is to offer a program that highlights the territory, supports local associations, and promotes the traditions that have always been the beating heart of the community. An Allumiere summer that will be a continuous stream of events of all kinds, with opportunities for every taste.
