The 59th SANGIORGESE festival brings seventeen days of celebration, music, and delicious food to San Giorgio di Livenza. Every evening, food stands open, offering local specialties like grilled pork ribs (costa), sausages (salsiccia), grilled rooster (galletto alla brace), baccalà (codfish), tripe, and tagliatelle with duck ragu. The program is packed with live music, children's shows, sports presentations, and a community bike ride, all culminating in the Festa della Famiglia (Family Festival) and a procession honoring Maria Madre della Chiesa.
Indulge in a variety of authentic Italian dishes, from rich first courses like tagliatelle with duck ragu to hearty main courses such as grilled pork ribs, sausages, and rooster. Don't miss the traditional Frico, a savory cheese and potato dish, or the unique Cotoletta Baccalà (codfish cutlet). For those with an adventurous palate, tripe is also available. And of course, save room for delicious desserts!
The festival kicks off on September 4th with food stands opening at 6:30 PM, followed by a children's evening featuring 'IL CIRCO QUASI'. September 5th brings music from LA SCUOLA PAUL JEFFREY presenting OBLIVIONS, alongside the ASD SANGIORGESE First Team Presentation. On September 6th, enjoy a DJ LET'S GO '90-2000 night and dancing with the STEFANIA MARCHESI orchestra, plus a special 'Costate' (grilled steak) evening (reservations recommended). September 11th is 'REMEMBER The Klondike'. On September 12th, dance to the music of GIANCARLO E I SANTAMONICA BAND. September 13th starts with a community bike ride at 9:00 AM (registrations from 8:00 AM), followed by music and dancing with the MARY MAFFEIS orchestra. A singing competition, 'UNA CANZONE PER TE', takes place on September 17th at 8:30 PM. September 18th features a special 'Frico' evening (reservations recommended; other dishes not available). September 19th is 'NOCHE LATINA' with HOLA GUAPA and music from the RENZA GLAMOUR orchestra. The festivities conclude on September 20th with the 'Festa della Famiglia - 9° MEMORIAL MATTIA PERINEL' starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Holy Mass and procession in honor of Maria Madre della Chiesa at 5:30 PM, and music and dancing with the ANNALISA GROUP.
