Get ready for the 12th annual World Mushroom Championship, held in Cerreto Laghi, within the Municipality of Ventasso! Organized by the Parco Nazionale dell'Appennino Tosco Emiliano and coop. Briganti del Cerreto, this unique event celebrates all things mushroom. Join us on Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th, 2026, for a weekend packed with fun, food, and fungi in the beautiful Reggio nell'Emilia region.
Throughout the event, local restaurants will be participating in 'Funghi in tavola,' offering special menus featuring delicious mushroom-based dishes at attractive prices. Expect to savor authentic regional cuisine highlighting the best of the local harvest.
SATURDAY: Explore the charming village streets with food stalls, exhibitions, displays, and live music. Join a guided trekking excursion with a GAE guide and mycologist, or enjoy a free E-Mtb tour through the vibrant autumn colors. SUNDAY: The official competition kicks off at 8:00 AM, concluding at 12:00 PM. At 3:00 PM, the winner will be announced, followed by awards and a lively closing celebration. The village streets will also host an artisan and gastronomic market, with roving music from the Menestrelli della Garfagnana.
